Taare-Zameen-Par

Taare Zameen Par (2007)

Countless dreams blink and vanish in a country which is becoming increasingly competitive at every stage of life. Taare Zameen Par aimed to attack the problem at the very beginning of this cycle, when the dreams are the loudest. The lead character Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) is depicted as a symbol for today’s childhood. His mind wanders away from conformity, and he aspires to paint his world the way he wants. But a dyslexic Ishaan struggles to cope with the maddening pace of the world around him that demands order and refuses to see him as he is. Finally, he finds a saviour who understands the real cause of his troubles and helps him claim his place in the world. Taare Zameen Par celebrated the free spirit of childhood, threw light on mental illness amongst children, and acted as a saviour for millions of kids in India.
