Robert Clements

Robert ClementsRobert Clements, popularly known as “Bob Clements” is an Indian author based in Mumbai.

His newspaper Columns very often had a readership of over six million a day, having graced the pages of over 60 newspapers and magazines, from the Khaleej Times (Dubai, UAE), to the Morning Star (U.K.). Bob is the only Indian columnist whose articles appeared daily in Bangladesh’s most popular newspaper, The Independent, and in the Pakistan Observer, Pakistan. In India, his Columns have appeared in newspapers in nearly every state in India, from The Statesman in Kolkata, to the Kashmir Times in Kashmir, to the Trinity Mirror in Chennai, and to the Andaman Chronicle, as well as in periodicals such as Indian Currents, and The Teenager Today (India).  In The Afternoon Despatch and Courier, his column, “Bob’s Banter” was chosen to replace the daily column “Busybee” after the death of Behram Contractor. His column was also translated into Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi every day and published in Punjab Kesri, Hind Samachar and Jagbani. Indians also read his column in national newspapers such as Asian Age, Free Press Journal, Loksatta, and India’s largest-circulation English-language newspaper, The Times of India.

While continuing to produce Columns, his work has grown to include books. Dare is motivational; Bob’s Banter Chronicles is a collection of short stories edited by him of writings by his students who took courses in writing and public speaking that he used to offer.

‘The Chosen and the Promised’, his stage play on the Israeli-Palestinian problem, has been bought by an Australian Company for TV production.

His next novel is expected to be published soon by Pippa Rann Books.
