Rang-de-basanti

Rang de Basanti (2006)

Rang de Basanti exemplifies modern India’s understanding of patriotism and it promotes the sentiment in the most energetic way possible. The only way you can get the youth to talk about the true meaning of patriotism is by igniting the passion that drives it and that is what the director achieved with this film, forcing the young audience to think about the state of affairs in the country and their role in it. Each frame of the film is infused with energy and the narrative is so involving that the film never loses its grip over its primary motive and entertains to the point of excitement. By drawing comparisons between India’s most passionate times and the indifference of the young modern India, Rang de Basanti revived the role of cinema in society.
