David, I remember you telling me that I have not written a poem about you like I did for your two sisters, so I thought of doing this especially for you!
Watching you at your fencing session on our recent visit to Houston this year was a special treat. I thought your moves were so good!
Did you know that your fencing coach and owner of the Alliance Fencing Academy in Houston where you train, is a very special guy? Alliance epee teams have won 14 national titles. turned out 34 national champions, two World champions, and over twenty World Cup champions and medalists.
Andrey Geva was Team USA\\\’s Rio Olympics coach and he currently serves as the women’s epee national coach for Team USA to get them ready for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Why am I telling you all this?
Because I want you to have the strength and self-confidence to follow your dreams. To have faith, stand for what you believe in and be strong in whatever life throws at you. I love how you like to play in the dirt, engage me in kusti, enjoy reading books, excel at your studies, design amazing things with Lego, and even create your own continent like Grafteh! David Satyajit Parker, you are quite an amazing chap for an eight-year-old!
God brings some wonderful people into our lives; Coach Andrey is someone important in your life now who will be around for a while – learn all you can from him.
But you and your two sisters will always be a part of my life – and that will never change!
