Anyone interested in researching the work of Nissim Ezekiel might wish to be aware of the following collections of material on and/ or by him

  1. The  P. Lal Papers at the British Library in London include letters from Nissim Ezekiel to P. Lal from 1963 to 1999,and discuss poetry, politics, culture, and personal matters.
  2. The John Press Archive at the University of Leeds in the UK has a collection of letters, discussing poetry, literature and personal matters, written by Nissim Ezekiel between1952 and  2004 to John Press, the British poet and critic who was Ezekiel’s friend and mentor. That Archive also contains manuscripts, notebooks, and photographs – though if any of those relate to Ezekiel is unknown.
  3. The University of Chicago has a collection of documents relating to Nissim Ezekiel’s visit to the university in 1967 as a Fulbright Lecturer. The documentsare part of the Fulbright Program Records, and include correspondence, reports, evaluations, and newspaper clippings.

If anyone is aware of any other correspondence or material by or on Nissim Ezekiel, whether in India or elsewhere, it would be excellent to have that listed here for the information of researchers, even if the material is, for whatever reason, inaccessible to the public at present.
