In addition to those that have already been mentioned in earlier posts, here are the ones most keeping in mind:
– Oxford University: Bodleian Library’s Special Collections appears to have only some letters from 1954, 1956 &19 58 (but I haven’t been able to check whether these are letters BY Chaudhuri or letters TO him); altogether, the Library has something like 350 books and articles. The bibliographical details of the individual items can be checked online – go to https://solo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/ 1
– British Library in London has some 50 books relating in some way to Chaudhuri (https://bll01.primo.exlibrisgroup.com), but of greater interest is some of Chaudhuri’s correspondence and manuscripts. Researchers will need to visit in order to compile a complete list of the manuscript and archival material.
– National Library of India: Some of Chaudhuri’s works and personal papers may be archived here but there is no record on the internet available of any details.
– Private Collections: Are some of Chaudhuri’s personal papers and mementos held in private collections, perhaps by family members or collectors who have acquired them over the years? If so, none are identifiable at present, in spite of contacts with his family.
Corrections and additions to the list above will be gladly received.
